Good morning search marketers, are you paying attention to Nextdoor?
The local social networking app has rolled Groups out of beta and launched Help Map in response to the coronavirus outbreak. Nextdoor has been under the radar for most brands and marketers, but its profile could increase significantly as it adds resources for neighbors during this crisis. The company recently launched a Local Deals ad product and "is accelerating monetization of its audience and traffic" ahead of an eventual IPO, reports Greg Sterling.
Amidst the constant change thrown at us during this uncertain time, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. To help, we've got a checklist for businesses to manage updates in response to the coronavirus that can appear in Search and other places where customers are looking for them — from local business hours to inventory availability to event status notifications and more.
Join us for a live-streamed home office video meetup on Monday at 2 p.m. EST. Barry Schwartz will lead a conversation with notable SEOs Pedro Dias, Lily Ray, Alexis Sanders as well as Daniel Waisberg of Google. They'll be talking SEO, search trends, work life in these days of social distancing and more. And they're taking questions! Submit your question in advance with this form.
We plan to do more of these — next up will be a local search chat hosted by Greg Sterling. Paid search and marketplace topics will follow. If you've got an idea, shoot me a note at gmarvin@thirddoormedia.com.
Keep reading for the daily Mindful Moment (we've been touched by the feedback to this new feature, thank you) as well as a Pro Tip to quickly develop a content calendar and more.
Take care,
