Good morning search marketers, we're very thankful to have you as our readers — today and every day.
We know marketing entails a bit of daily drudgery, but on this Thanksgiving Day, we're taking the opportunity to reflect on the aspects of our professional lives that bring us joy and satisfaction.
A lot of us spend time analyzing the search engines — what's behind that algorithm change and why is this, and not that, displaying in the local pack? — to find ways to gain greater visibility for our businesses. While others of us spend our days laser-focused on optimizing ad campaigns that will resonate with searchers. The engines don't always get it right and don't always make our jobs easy, but search truly is remarkable. Whether people are using their mobile phones or their voice assistants or whatever their intent may be, they're turning to search to find what they need. We're grateful to be able to document and analyze the constant evolution of search.
But most of all we're thankful for you and the greater community that reads our newsletters and websites and attends our SMX conferences. This industry attracts a lot of smart, talented and good-hearted people who are willing to share their learnings for the benefit of all. (Just check out Barry Schwartz's video interviews of SEM leaders for evidence.) And we are grateful to participate.
We hope you're having the restful break that you've no doubt earned! Happy Thanksgiving!
