Good morning search marketers, day two here at SMX East!
Remember to follow along on Twitter at #SMX. We'll be bringing coverage of many of the sessions to SEL, so stay tuned over the next days and weeks.
Yesterday, we published a massive new resource for paid search marketers. The Periodic Tables (yes multiple) of PPC Elements and accompanying report are now available for download. Part of what we wanted to achieve with these tools is to provide an at-a-glance view of the influence of automation and machine learning on paid search. Each element is color-coded based on whether it is manual, automated, machine learning-driven or a blend of manual control and automation. The report also includes several additional assets and references, including the PPC "toxins" that can hurt your performance.
In other news, CallJoy is Google's first foray into SaaS. A paid version of the "virtual phone agent" for SMBs is now available for $39 per month. It is built on the same technology behind Duplex and the Google Assistant. SMBs can essentially "train" the voice agent to respond to calls. Google says it can also be used to "book appointments, get quotes, make table reservations, and more."
Lastly, entries are now being accepted for the 2020 Search Engine Land Awards. Start thinking now about your best performing campaigns that show off your marketing chops and ingenuity!
