Good morning search marketers, hello from day 2 of SMX West!
If you're not able to be with us in San Jose, follow along at #SMX on Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
I spent most of yesterday learning from the deeply knowledgeable experts speaking on digital commerce marketing. Commerce marketing is undergoing a massive digital transformation. The impact of this transformation is evident in the Search results as new promotional opportunities (both paid and organic!). To help us all wrap our heads around these changes, opportunities and trends, we released our newest periodic table yesterday: The Periodic Table of Digital Commerce Marketing.
The table and accompanying report encompasses channels, promotional products offered across those channels and omnichannel capabilities for retailers with a presence both online and offline. It also shows optimization considerations and campaign targeting mechanisms available as well as tools to help digital commerce marketers maximize their exposure and efficiency on their chosen channels. I hope you find it valuable — and if you have thoughts or feedback, shoot me an email at gmarvin@thirddoormedia.com.
Also yesterday at SMX West, Bing announced plans to release the first phase of refreshed and improved Bing Webmaster Tools in the first week of March. The new toolset promises to offer a faster, cleaner, more responsive and even more actionable set of features for SEOs and Webmasters.
Be sure to keep reading for a killer Pro Tip on using Python and Google Trends to create SEO seasonality projections.
