Good morning search marketers, we're speeding into the holidays.
Just in time, yesterday Google released the new Google Shopping experience in the U.S. that it teased in May. This is a Shopping destination located at https://shopping.google.com/ that's separate from the Shopping tab in Search and is aimed squarely at Amazon.
It features personalized recommendations based on users' search activity, a price alert tool and prominently features items that users can "Buy on Google" right from the listings. That's powered by Google's cost-per-action program for retailers, currently called Google Shopping Actions. With this debut, it's become even more clear that merchants will need to adopt Shopping Actions if they want to get prominent visibility in Google's Shopping experiences. We'll be talking more about what this means for sellers at SMX East next month.
If your site is moving to a new domain or subdomain, Google has added a change of address tool in Search Console. This feature had been available in the old version of GSC but wasn't migrated over. This tool tells Google about your change and helps to migrate your Google Search results from your old site to your new site.
Before you get on with your day, I'd like to ask for about 3 minutes of your time to help us learn more about how marketing teams are handling technology upgrades. If you've recently replaced or upgraded a marketing technology program in your organization, please take our brief survey. We'll share the results in about 6 weeks.
