Good morning Search Marketer, happy Monday.
We can't imagine a more deserving winner of our inaugural Award for Advancing Diversity and Inclusion in Search Marketing than Areej AbuAli, founder of Women In Tech SEO. And based on the nominations we received, the community concurs — by a wide, wide, wide margin.
Areej's leadership and advocacy have helped create a powerful network for support and advancement in just over a year since launching Women In Tech SEO. We included several quotes from people who nominated Areej, but I wanted to share two more here:
"The [Women in Tech SEO] community has done so much for the SEO space – not least bringing together SEO professionals around the world. Areej, its founder is a force for communication, unifying SEOs, and pushing for a fairer and more inclusive industry both inside and out organisations. I joined WITS this year and it's one of the best things I have done for my career – and I think I am not alone in this," Clare, SEO Content Lead, Women in Tech SEO member.
"As founder of the women in tech seo community, Areej had set up a space where women can exchange knowledge about SEO, but also on working environment, empowerment, etc. However, she has not stopped there. She's launched a mentoring programme, virtual meetups, etc. She is very persistent when it comes to how people talk to each other, making everyone feel welcome," Larissa Bakker, Women in Tech SEO member.
Congratulations and thank you, Areej and the entire Women In Tech SEO community for your contributions to advancing diversity and inclusion in search marketing.
