Good morning search marketers, isn't this industry the best?
On Tuesday night, we celebrated the incredible work being done in search marketing at the Search Engine Land Awards party, held at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle during SMX Advanced.
Congratulations to Felicia DelVecchio, director of digital media at DAC Group, and Andrew Cooper, associate director of e-commerce at agency Metric Theory, who were named Search Marketers of the Year.
Andrew's employer, Metric Theory, also won the agency of the year award in the category of SEM. Wolfgang Digital won agency of the year in the SEO category.
Sprint and HomeToGo won the in-house awards for SEM and SEO, respectively.
Search Engine Land contributing editors Greg Sterling and Barry Schwartz are nearly household names in the industry because they've been writing for the site for many years now. They were awarded well-earned Outstanding Community Service Awards for their years-long commitment to educating and supporting the search community. I've had the incredible privilege to work with and learn from Greg and Barry for more than six years now and am thrilled to see them recognized.
On the news front, we've got a round up of early data on Google's June core search algorithm update from several SEO toolset providers as well as a look at what SEOs are seeing. Keep in mind, it's still very early. Our advice is to remain calm, let the dust settle over the next week or so and then take a deeper look at your analytics.
Thanks to everyone who attended SMX Advanced this week. It was fantastic to see friendly faces and to meet so many dedicated marketers.
