🔍 Shipping details schema | Pinterest's positivity pitch

Good morning Search Marketer, new schema support is out just in time for the holiday season.

When it comes to holiday e-commerce shopping, shipping times and costs matter more than ever. Google announced yesterday that it has added support for shipping details schema. Shipping costs and expected delivery times can then show up on the overview and stores tab for specific product results in Google Search. This is a good alternative for those who aren't actively using Merchant Center. If you're using GMC though, stick with it because the schema support is only available in the U.S., in English and on mobile for now.

More local businesses are seeing the option to set up and offer video conferencing options via Google My Business. Google confirmed to us that this is an extension of an announcement from May for local businesses to offer online appointments, classes and other services during COVID-19. A pivot with a purpose

Like every brand, we made incredible adjustments in real-time. Programs were cut, programs were pushed, programs were moved to next year," said Heidi Cooley, head of global marketing at Crocs.

But amidst that disruption the company made purpose a priority and launched an initiative to outfit front-line healthcare workers who needed their footwear.

"A global team initiated a commitment around giving tens of thousands of pairs a day to healthcare heroes, and we gave away over 45 days 860,000 pairs of crocs valued at over $40 million."

Pinterest's positivity angle

As social media feeds reflect angst, fear and divisiveness of an election season happening amid a global pandemic, climate crises and social unrest, Pinterest is highlighting the "positive context" of its platform — which isn't monetizing political content. The company says searches for terms like "spread positivity," "positive habits," and "positive mindset" have been surging in recent months. "People are seeking more positivity than ever," the company says.

Why we care. Pinterest's positivity pitch could resonate with marketers concerned about brand safety and brand suitability on other platforms (yes, Facebook and YouTube), particularly this election cycle. Pinterest now claims more than 400 million monthly active users.

Bing voice search. While Bing had the ability to do voice queries on its mobile app for a while now, Bing has just added that capability to its desktop interface.

Dual stack IPv4/6 and Google. Google's John Mueller said there is no ranking benefit to using a dual stack IPv4/6 set up.

Google Doodles. While yesterday was the first day of fall in the northern hemisphere and Google had a special Doodle for it, it was not live in the US because of the US National Voter Registration Day Doodle that reminded folks to register to vote.
