Good morning Search Marketer, new schema support is out just in time for the holiday season.
When it comes to holiday e-commerce shopping, shipping times and costs matter more than ever. Google announced yesterday that it has added support for shipping details schema. Shipping costs and expected delivery times can then show up on the overview and stores tab for specific product results in Google Search. This is a good alternative for those who aren't actively using Merchant Center. If you're using GMC though, stick with it because the schema support is only available in the U.S., in English and on mobile for now.
More local businesses are seeing the option to set up and offer video conferencing options via Google My Business. Google confirmed to us that this is an extension of an announcement from May for local businesses to offer online appointments, classes and other services during COVID-19. There are still questions about how it will work, but the move to add video booking "is also noteworthy because it takes Google My Business even further into the realm of digital commerce," says Greg Sterling.
