🔍 10 offers in Google Posts | Google Ads API emerges from beta

Good morning, search marketers, are you getting your fair share of exposure?

Local businesses can get some more exposure for their promotional offers in Google search results with a new dedicated section for Offers in Google Posts. Enter up to 10 offers from your business.

The new Google Ads API is now out of beta. If you're an API user, be sure to get up to speed before the beta version access gets cut off starting April 30.

In boring but important developments, Google is urging changes to the European Union's Copyright Directive, which could be ratified within the next couple of months. The regulation would require search engines and news aggregators to pay licensing fees when content is featured on their sites.

Lots more below including a Pro Tip with a Google Ads budget warning script.

Pro Tip

A Google Ads budget warning script

A Google Ads script can take preventative measures when you're on a limited budget to avoid letting Google spend more of your daily budget than you want. Set a percentage cap for the tool to warn you then add an email variable with a table of the campaigns to track the budget cap. "All that's left to do is to make sure you actually check your inbox once in a while," explains Daniel Gilbert of Brainlabs. You can copy the script here.

Keyword stuff CSS. Go ahead, I dare you – stuff those keywords in your CSS. Google says they ignore it anyway.

Is that spam? Are you unsure if something is against Google's webmaster guidelines? Google wants you to ask them and they can then clarify for you.
