Good morning Search Marketer, is texting part of your marketing program?
Text messaging may be the most underutilized marketing opportunity. Before you dismiss it, a recent survey found that more than 50% of consumers said they want texts from their favorite brands. Retail brands in particular have found it to be a low-cost, high ROI channel — and one that works extremely well in tandem with email.
Facebook is getting back in the search game a bit. Searching for an entity like a movie, show or celebrity may bring up a new knowledge panel-like box of information sourced from Wikipedia. It's another reason to check on any Wikipedia pages you manage as that content stands to gain more exposure withinn Facebook. We haven't heard much about search from Facebook for years. In 2014, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said making better search experiences in Facebook was "going to be a multiyear voyage." Bringing in Wikipedia content could also help the company address the big problem of misinformation on the platform.
