🔍 Streamlined publisher policies are coming | The end of noindex in robots.txt

Good morning search marketers, do you fully understand Google's content monetization policies?

Google is reorganizing and standardizing its publisher content policies and restrictions across AdSense, AdMob and Ad Manager to make it easier for publishers to understand what they can monetize. The policies will be divided into two categories: Google Publisher Policies, which details the types of content that cannot be monetized, and Google Publisher Restrictions, which covers content that can be monetized, but may not appeal to all advertisers (such as alcohol-related content). The reorganization, which restructures the way the policies are presented but does not include any new restrictions being launched, will go live in September.

As a friendly reminder, on September 1, Google will officially end support for the noindex directive in robots.txt, making tomorrow the last business day before the change and your final opportunity to switch to another method to control crawling. The announcement was made back in July and you may have even received Search Console notifications with the subject line "Remove 'noindex' statements from the robots.txt of…"
